TASK 3 - PORTRAITS (BUILD UP WORK 03)

I usually like to shoot with quite long focal length lenses, but for this shooting I also wanted to try something different. Looking for the Platon's look I used a wide angle lens to change the proportions of my subject and to play with the different perspectives. The result isn't too bad but I don't like them so much. Something that probably made my pictures look not as good as I wanted is the fact that the black background behind my subject wasn't big enough. Probably having a bigger studio or having shot my picture outside could solve this problem. Regarding the pose I think that the first picture really has something creepy and I like how the subject looks like if it's trying to grab you. Actually analyzing the subject's facial expression, the initial fear that the figure transmitted can also be interpreted as someone that tries to reach our hand not to catch us but to be grabbed by us, like if it's needing to be saved. I really like this contrast in the interpretation that anyone can give.

The second picture was shot from the ground and you really feel how the imposing glance of the model impends on us and makes us feel small and powerless.

In the third and fourth one I enhanced the masculine side of the model pointing the viewers attention to the strong looking arm. The model also looks very self confident.
