After spending some time studying the pictures from Platon, I started thinking about how to re-create that intense effect that makes Platon's photos so impressive. My idea was to keep the setup very simple and capable of enhancing my model’s lineaments. I started working on a check-list that helped me following a schedule and keep in mind all the details.
The first setup that i tried had a simple white background, the model is lit by a soft box mounted in a higher position creating soft shadows on the model. A reflector is used for exposing both side of the face in a natural way. A second soft box is used to enhance the white background.

The second setup on the other side has a black background and for this reason only the front soft box is needed.
